Andy Bolleshon

Mastering Engineer

The main focus of Andy Bolleshon’s career in the Music Business is his fascination for sound. With more than fifteen years experience as a musician, producer, mixer, sound engineer, label owner and music publisher, Andy has an exceptional ability in overseeing all requirements in this field from all perspectives.

In 1988, as live keyboardist, Andy toured the world with the Canadian Electro-Pop-Band “Psyche” and later with Anne Clark. Whilst in London, Andy trained as a studio assistant in numerous studios, including FON. At FON, he was an assistant sound engineer on the legendary production "Frequencies" (LFO). He also participated in the production of "Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine" at Strongroom Studios, and at 'A.M.G.', he worked as a sound programmer for various artists including the 'Pet Shop Boys'.

In 1989, Andy had his own first release, and three years later his single "Nightbird" reached No. 1 in the Belgian charts. “Nightbird” then went on to chart in the UK Top 40, and subsequently Andy received a Golden Record.
In order to develop his own sound, Andy founded his own studio on returning to Hanover, and not long afterwards he became a well-known dance producer. In 1995, together with Martin Buttrich he founded many projects including: Timo Maas; and Sound of Life. Timo Maas developed into a highly successful international dance project. In the coming years, their unmistakable funky-technoid sound brought them high-class remixes and collaborations with such artists as: Madonna, Kelis, Placebo, Garbage, Muse, Snap and Tom Jones.

In the following years Andy and Martin produced approximately 50 releases and 100 remixes – among others the Timo Maas Chart hit "Ubik" and "Der Schieber", as well as 'Azzido da Bass's' "Dooms Night" (which as well as reaching the UK Top 8, also received 'Best Dance Single 2000' and 'German Dance Award 2001')

Then in 1997, Andy’s studio in Hanover developed into the Time Tools complex, which to this present day has developed into a group of 12 different studios housed by different working producers.

Since 1990 Andy’s work as a mixing engineer has become for him a second main focus. Artists such as Jamiroquai, Tom Jones and Everything But The Girl have booked him to mix-down radio versions of their tracks.

In the year 2000, after having already begun to master his own productions some time before, Andy branched out further and established the 'Time Tools Mastering & Publishing GmbH' – with the vision to establish mastering on an international level in Germany. The aim was to establish a Mastering studio just like the ones he learned to appreciate over the years as a producer. Fat Boy Slim, Moby, Moloko, Mousse T. and Yello are only some the artists whose productions Andy has subsequently mastered.

In 2002 mastering engineer Enrico Mercaldi joined the team and Hilke Vollmann took the position of studio and office manager.

In the 2004 version of "Encyclopedia of the Entertainment Industry" (Robert Lyng, Michael von Rothkirch, Stefan Klein) you can also see articles Andy has written on the subjects and terms of DJ culture.
